West Kent Masters Lodge No.5778

West Kent Masters  Lodge (W.K.M} was Consecrated 20th April 1939 is one of the Flagship Lodges in the Province of West Kent with over 150 members. The special nature of this lodge means that, although it welcomes Master Masons from everywhere to attend its meetings, W.K.M. membership is drawn from those who have been through the Chair of King Solomon, and are members of a West Kent Lodge, or who have an affiliation or some other connection with the Province.

The lodge meets three times a year, on the Third Thursdays in January, April (Installation) and the last Thursday in September. As with other Past Masters’ Lodges, it does not work the traditional ceremonies other than to Open and Close: the business of W.K.M. is most often to receive a lecture or similar presentation. Over the years many eminent speakers have been heard, and while this is rarely if ever recommended as a first Lodge, it has often been described as the “beating heart of West Kent Freemasonry” and is proud of its place at the centre of Masonic life in the Province.

A Past Masters Lodge is, as its name implies, is a lodge for Freemasons who have been; or who are currently, Installed as the Worshipful Master or Past Master of a lodge.

A Past Master’s lodge compliments the activities of existing lodges; in that the lodge does not work the Ceremonies of Initiation, Passing or Raising. Instead, the Lodge meetings are an opportunity to take a further step in Masonic knowledge, via lecture, interactive talks and discussions, demonstrations or plays, all usually, but not exclusively with a Masonic theme.

Visitors from other Provinces or further afield who are struggling to obtain an invitation should contact the West Kent Provincial Office

Why Join West Kent Masters?
To meet a wider group of Masons and make new Masonic friends.

Past Masters Lodges meet in a relaxed environment with likeminded experienced Masons, without any pressure to perform ritual.

At these Lodges you can enjoy ‘edutainment’, that is education about freemasonry and other matters of interest delivered in an entertaining and enjoyable format.

You are free to enjoy the events organised, such as family lunches and other occasions open to family and non-Masons.

As Lodge subscriptions are less in a Past Masters Lodge you can enjoy a second Lodge for little annual outlay

Past Masters Lodges are an excellent conduit for information about what is happening in our Province, and in the wider Masonic world.
